The CONNECT Team hopes that everyone’s New Year is off to a happy and healthy start.

With a new year brings some new and exiting updates we would like to share:

For all CONNECT correspondence, please contact us by sending an email to:

This email account is monitored daily by the CONNECT Team at the State of Montana. Please reach out this address moving forward, and a member of our team will be sure to respond.

We would like to welcome Matthew Hyzer as a new CONNECT Coordinator. Matt will be working with Kara to provide support and technical assistance on the CONNECT system.

A provider level user guide will be available soon to assist our regional coordinators in the on-boarding process. This guide will walk users through the complete referral process in CONNECT as well as answer any commonly asked questions on navigating the system.

We are also excited to announce that 11 of the 13 regions have begun implementing CONNECT. The State CONNECT Team will continue to work with and offer support to those regions while working to meet referral needs statewide.

Finally, stay tuned for an announcement on the next CONNECT Roadshow! The CONNECT Team will be conducting another statewide tour to promote the system, while offering in person support and technical assistance to our Regional Coordinators at the local level.

TA Coalition Webinar: Myths and Reality: The HIPAA Privacy Rule

Description:  HIPAA is a privacy rule intended to safeguard private health information, but is often misinterpreted and misapplied. With better understanding of flexibility within HIPAA, mental health stakeholders can promote both individuals’ privacy rights and appropriate inclusion of families/partners and providers.

This webinar will feature various scenarios that illustrate both commonly-held misperceptions about HIPAA, as well as more complex issues.  It will address such topics as communications among health providers, disclosures to caregivers, rights of people to access information about their own treatment, special rules pertaining to mental health and substance use information, and other important topics.

Follow this link to access the free training!

The link is also available on our Training Resources page.

Although CONNECT is a web-based referral system, it has not had an online presence outside of the system itself until now. This website will host a number of training resources for current CONNECT users, contact information for site administrators in each county, Frequently Asked Questions about CONNECT, helpful tips, updates and more.

Do you have a story about how CONNECT has changed your referral process?  Have you or your staff members had success in optimizing the level of care provided to a client because of CONNECT?  We would love to hear from you and share your story with others!
